Responding to the psychosocial needs of displaced Syrian adolescents and families in the Za'atari refugee camp and non-camp settings of Jordan
Four Million of Syria's population of 20M has been internally displaced. Half of those are children. At least 1M Syrian children are now refugees. As an humanitarian protection consultant to the International Medical Corps, funded by UNICEF, I worked with Syrian refugee youth in the refugee camps of Za'atari, Jordan, to mitigate violence and provide recommendations for well-being and family protection.
In addition, I co-authored a mental health and culture primer with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, to assist humanitarian workers on the mental health of displaced Syrians. Report available here.
